Laura Hamilton, APC, NCC

Laura is a warm and dedicated therapist who values a collaborative approach in her work with clients, helping them establish meaningful goals and direction for their counseling journey. She integrates person-centered therapy, narrative therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to tailor her approach to each individual's unique needs. Recognizing the importance of the mind-body connection, Laura has also received training in somatic-informed trauma therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Radically Open DBT (RO-DBT), and is informed by Internal Family Systems (IFS).

Believing in the power of process over perfection, Laura supports clients in identifying and building upon their strengths from a strengths-based perspective. She is passionate about honoring the cultural factors that shape our identities and concepts of self, ensuring that her therapeutic practice is both mindful and inclusive.

Laura earned her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Richmont Graduate University. Her diverse experience in the mental health field includes work in residential treatment centers for substance use disorders, recovery programs for adult survivors of commercial sexual exploitation, child advocacy centers, residential programs for adolescents, and international initiatives supporting survivors of sexual exploitation and abuse. Her areas of focus include trauma, substance use disorders, anxiety, depression, and LGBTQ+ issues.

In her free time, Laura finds joy in caring for her pets, exploring new places, dancing, listening to audiobooks, and spending time by the ocean. She brings a sense of curiosity, empathy, and a commitment to fostering growth and healing in every therapeutic relationship.
